SO Business is an initiative led by South Oxfordshire District Council’s economic development team. The purpose is to provide business advice and support, including signposting the available support services, events and grants under a branded umbrella. To help spread the word about the work that we do, SO Business has an ambassadors programme.
The role of the ambassador is to have closer ties and a direct link with the council.
Represent local business, key sectors or towns.
Advise SODC of the challenges, opportunities and “game changers” for businesses.
Be featured in press releases and our website.
Have opportunities to host events.
Speak at forums and workshops.
Promote the district’s success stories.
Although the ambassador role is unpaid, it will not require too onerous a time commitment, with hopefully just a few hours per year, and some email correspondence. Two board meetings will be held each year.

We are currently looking for more potential ambassadors, if you are interested, please get in touch with David Cookson, economic development officer. There’s no obligation at this stage, the team are only looking for an expression of interest.
We look forward to hearing from you and hopefully welcoming you as a SO Business Ambassador in the future.
