Free energy audits and funding for SMEs

The OxFutures Project is offering free energy audits to small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) to identify energy saving opportunities. The audit will suggest a range of practical actions that will reduce energy, carbon, and cut costs for your organisation.

The project is also offering grants to cover 25 per cent of the costs of installing recommended measures such as LED lighting, insulation, efficient heating and temperature controls.

Replacing inefficient lighting, boilers, or windows or insulating your building can have an immediate impact on your energy spend.

What is involved in the energy audit?

Oxford Brookes, as a partner in the OxFutures project, will carry out a thorough energy audit on your commercial premises. The assessment will consider the actions needed to reduce your energy use and create repeated savings for your organisation. Many are at zero or low cost and will be easy to implement. Audit recommendations will be presented with estimated installation costs, financial savings and pay-back-periods, so you can prioritise which measures you want to fund, and when.

A range of actions may be recommended such as:

  • Insulation and draught proofing
  • Efficient boilers and heaters
  • LED lighting
  • Powering down appliances
  • Staff engagement / behavioural change
  • Battery storage.

Is it really free?

Yes! OxFutures is offering the energy audits free of cost to your organisation, the 12 hours of professional expertise is worth approximately £1,600.

Save energy, money and carbon

Improved energy efficiency should result in reduced energy bills, reducing your core overhead costs, and reducing your organisation’s impact on the environment.

Improve your facilities

An energy audit can result in other great benefits. Your commercial premises will benefit from better lighting, and improved comfort for staff, visitors or volunteers as a result of a warm and draught free building.
