Oxfordshire LEADER is a grant programme funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD). Part of the Rural Development Programme for England (RDPE), its mission is to support projects that will boost the rural economy.
Oxfordshire LEADER has £1.55m to grant before March 2019, with up to £100k per grant. There are six national priorities set by Defra and projects must fall into at least one of them:
To increase farm productivity
To support micro and small businesses and farm diversification
To boost rural tourism
To provide rural services
To provide cultural and heritage activities
To increase forestry productivity
The programme works on a match funding basis, this means that the person applying for the grant must ‘match’ the amount they are applying for. The team are often asked what counts as acceptable match funding, so they have produced a guide on the LEADER website.
The LEADER team are always happy to answer specific questions. So don’t delay, it starts with a simple expression of interest – find out more at How To Apply
