How businesses in South Oxfordshire can increase trade through their connections to Midsomer Murders.
Globally popular ITV series, Midsomer Murders is attracting thousands of visitors from the UK and overseas.
These visitors want to experience for themselves the beautiful towns and villages that are brought to their screens through the show. Many staying one-three nights and others travelling as part of a coach group – this market has proved lucrative to those currently engaging with the Midsomer concept.
Tourism Angles will be hosting a free workshop, on behalf of Henley Town Council, at Greenlands (Henley Business School) on Tuesday 26 January, to help businesses understand how they can use the Midsomer name to increase trade.
The Midsomer workshop will cover:
• volume and value data, visitor profile, and screen tourism trends
• attracting coach groups and independent visitors
• hearing from some of the 50 businesses already seeing business growth by connecting to Midsomer – how did they do it, what value has it brought them
• attracting media attention
There will also be networking opportunities and ‘Barnaby Buns’ provided by Rumseys of Thame.
Sarah Osborne and Jackie Ellis of Tourism Angles have held the the Midsomer contract for Henley for two years and have worked with South Oxfordshire District Council for six years.
The workshop will take place between 2-4pm at Henley Business School, Greenlands Campus. To book a place please RSVP to Sarah Osborne by 20 January.
