Southampton Boat Show, which runs until 24 September this year, features one of South Oxfordshire’s most successful businesses, which is hoping to make a splash.
From small beginnings over 20 years ago, Berinsfield based Williams Jet Tenders now designs and builds over 750 boats a year and employs over 60 staff. A jet tender (below) is used to ferry people on and off large boats, usually luxury yachts, so the show is an important event in the calendar for Williams.
Mathew Hornsby was a keynote speaker at this years’ SO Business organised Business Breakfast, telling their inspirational story from start up to world leader. Williams is now the UK’s largest boat builder and the world’s largest jet tender manufacturer. Mathew, shown here on the right at their very first boat show in 1998, co founded Williams with his brother, current managing director John (seen on the left).
Supported by TheYachtMarket.com The Southampton Boat Show has for 49 years celebrated the lifestyle and fun that being on the water has to offer, playing host to a range of attractions, celebrity appearances and live entertainment, topped with over 600 brands showcasing the latest in the marine world.
