Supporting our town centres in South Oxfordshire
Improving the viability and attractiveness of our towns is a corporate priority for South Oxfordshire District Council. The economic development team works with town councils, chambers of commerce and business groups in each market town to identify projects that will increase footfall and trade in our town centres. These projects are detailed in annual action plans for each town.
Alongside this the economic development team undertake annual surveys to monitor the ongoing health and vitality of our town centres, including the South Oxfordshire towns’ Retail Vacancy Survey 2017.
South Oxfordshire District Council commissioned DTZ to undertake a review of the national changes in the High Street and the possible impact on the South Oxfordshire towns, you can view the report here.
