What is the employer of the year award?
The SVBA Employer of the Year Award is aimed at businesses based in South Oxfordshire or Vale of White Horse that demonstrate the characteristics of being a great place to work.
What makes a great employer?
This award looks to recognise an inclusive work culture, inspiring leadership and management, staff training and development and the working environment.
There will also be a focus on encouraging young people into the business via work experience, apprenticeships or traineeships.
Who is sponsoring the award?
Richardsons is a team of fifty, dedicated to building trustful relationships with our clients, so we grow together.
We assist and advise clients in a broad range of industries. These are both small and medium sized owner-managed enterprises, as well as several large companies, subsidiaries of overseas groups and private individuals.
Established for over twenty-five years, we have a formidable reputation in dealing with technology start-ups, with much of the business from this sector being spin-outs from Oxford University and the science parks around Oxfordshire, such as Harwell Campus and Culham Science Centre.
Jemima King, Associate Director, Richardsons said:
“We are delighted to be sponsoring the Employer of the Year Award and are excited to see the types of initiatives companies in Oxfordshire have in place to be the deserving winner of this award.
For this award we hope to recognise organisations that have created a stimulating and supportive work environment and a real commitment to staff welfare of its employees, resulting in high staff satisfaction levels and a motivated, ambitious and integrated workforce. These are all aims that Richardsons strive to achieve within the workplace and we are excited to meet other like-minded businesses with similar objectives.
The winner of this award will have evidenced engaging employees in strategic goals and company values, and how human and supporting resources have been optimised to achieve and sustain commercial and competitive success. The judges will also look at investment in people, staff retention and development, initiatives to create a more collaborative culture, and the impact this has had on commercial performance.”
